Frequently Asked Questions
Do you employ and pay technicians?
RV TechLink does NOT employ any RV technicians. The technicians are independent contractors/companies and RV TechLink is simply a matchmaker between a customer and a service provider.
Additionally, RV TechLink doesn't take payment on behalf of, or handle a technician's earnings at any point. Stripe is the payment processor that takes payment from the customer, which then sends the technician their total earnings based on their hourly rate, and sends RV TechLink a service fee paid by the customer for facilitating the connection. RV technicians receive their full hourly rate for every job request, and neither Stripe nor RV TechLink take a percentage of the technician's earnings.
How does it work?
RV TechLink allows RVers to find nearby technicians in both emergency situations using the on-demand feature, and also gives them the ability to find and contact local RV services directly through the use of its RV tech finder, both conveniently located within the same mobile app.
On-Demand Feature
The on-demand feature allows RVers to create a repair request from their mobile device and submit it to the platform. This request will then notify all registered technicians within a specified search distance that there is a job request available. If a technician and RVer both decide to accept each other for the request, they will be connected to each other via RV TechLink. The two users can then discuss the issue(s) at hand, it then provides GPS directions to the customer's location, and includes a billing page to update both users on the job status including costs, billed time, and job description. Once the work has been completed by the technician, the customer pays through the app to finalize the job request, and that's it! For more information on how this feature works, see the Technician or RVers pages.
RV Tech Locator
The RV tech locator feature allows RVers to find and contact mobile and in-shop RV service providers nationwide in order to make it as easy as possible to take care of their repair or maintenance needs while at home or on the road! This feature includes two tiers.
Free tier
The free tier of the RV tech locator allows RVers to view all registered technicians on the app who have setup their service pin with RV Link. Registered technicians/businesses will be displayed on the map as purple pins, and will include information such as rating, how many jobs they've completed on the platform, hourly rate, and contact information.
Premium tier
The premium tier opens up access to our entire database of mobile and in-shop RV service providers. Our premium locator service will give you access to hundreds of options for having your repairs done no matter where you're located. With RV TechLink, you can find and connect directly with RV technicians and businesses in a matter of seconds!
What if I have a problem with my repairs?
As a matchmaking service, RV TechLink is not responsible for any issues that arise during or after a job has been completed, the same way Google is not responsible if you chose to hire a technician that damages your RV (even if they had great ratings). For this reason, once a job request has been complete, we provide history for all work done which includes a description of the job, time it took to complete, cost, and contact information for the technician/company that performed the work.
In the event of a minor issue, RV TechLink's service fee distribution includes directing a portion of revenue to a dispute fund to help remedy the situation for minor issues by way of refund or by sending out a second technician free of charge.
In the event of a major issue that a technician may have been the cause of, it is required that you contact them directly via the contact information we provide in order to be reimbursed for any damages or losses.

Technicians that consistently receive poor ratings or reports will be permanently removed from the platform in order to ensure quality of technicians on the platform remains high.
